John Alvin

Born in Hyannis, Massachusetts on november 1948 John Alvin was a graphic designer that specialised in movie poster design. His inspiration of becoming a graphic designer came from high school. He graduated from the Art Centre Collage of Design and worked as a freelance after this course.

Alvin's first movie consisted of designing a poster for Blazing Saddles, which was directed by Mel Brooks. He then went on to work on different posters for books and other films including Steven Spielburgs's film E.T. Alvin Made more than 130 film posters for more that three decades.

He died on the 6 of February, 2008 at his home at age 59..
